The Black and White Project: Day 428: May 31, 2012

Thursday was a lovely day — the first in a few days where it wasn’t stifling — and I was glad that I decided to take a brief walk in Times Square, with the hope that I might see something interesting. And it seems to me that the nicer the weather, all sorts of strange people come out of the woodwork …

I think I can already envision my female readers salivating, swooning and squealing over this brother, and I can’t really blame them. In any case, he was exercising on the corner of West 45th and Broadway, near the old MTV Studios.

The woman in the body paint was in the middle of a photo shoot when I caught her and took a few quick photos. As you can imagine, she caught a lot of attention from male passerby — I saw these two dudes who were so focused on this woman, that they almost walked into a middle-aged woman.

I caught steel pan drummer Dexter Jones outside of the Duane Reade on the corner of West 50th Street and Broadway. On nice days, he’s a regular presence in Times Square, and I got a chance to chat with him for a few minutes before heading back to the office. He struck me as being a rather genial man.
